[00:01:08] Speaker B: All right, so the UFC returned to Mexico City this weekend. It was a great crowd, pretty good fight card. A lot of exciting fights happen. Let's start with the prelims. Alex, what happened in the prelims?
[00:01:19] Speaker A: A lot of good things. Mohammed John Hillman Nymov. He proved he was the real deal against Eric the King. Silva Nymov is from Tajikistan. He invaded this King's Land early and he was swinging for the hills, man. After a spin kick or a missed spin kick, a takedown and a leg injury to Silva Nymob was crowned three and O in the UFC.
Next up, we got a fight that really helped us get our name. Felipe lipe Detona Dosantos. He defeated Victor El Magnifico. Alto Morano. And that's by split decision. Shout out.
[00:01:57] Speaker B: That was a mouthful.
[00:01:58] Speaker A: That was a mouthful. I'm happy I got it all across that time. In this closely contested fight, both fighters were El Magnifico, but Lipe Daytona was more explosive, winning the fight. 2928-2928 and 27 30 on the judges scorecards.
Another flyweight fight was up next, featuring Ronaldo Lazy boy Rodriguez versus Denise psycho Bondar. The lazy boy came in laying into Bondar, asserting pressure deep into the second round.
After some shots, he gained the rear naked choke, reclining Bondar back and securing the submission with only 1 second left in the round. If you're a real psycho, you're going out. If you ask me, that's a fair assumption, but I've also never been choked out, so it kind of leaves that up.
[00:02:47] Speaker B: You want to change that?
[00:02:48] Speaker A: Not tonight.
All right, what's the rapper's name? I'm a killer. I'm all choke you, but I'm no killer, baby. Yikes.
There you go. With no fights over lightweight, we've got another flyweight, Claudio, Prince of Peru. Puelez fought Ferris smile killer Zion. With the prince of Peru working takedowns but not much else. A split decision is well expected here. The smile killer had nobody laughing as he took home the decision, showing that a lot of activity will score you points, but it depends on who's judging. The fair.
[00:03:23] Speaker B: Fair.
[00:03:23] Speaker A: Edgar Piro Chicales Charez had his rematch against Daniel Miojo de Silva. And in my opinion, this fight, even with the quick stoppage from the last one, went back down the exact same way. With Daniel de Silva having no mojo getting subbed after trying to shoot takedowns the whole fight.
[00:03:43] Speaker B: It happens.
[00:03:47] Speaker A: Jesus Santos Aguilar turned control into points and he fed on Mendoka's determined takedown approach. In the next fight, Jesus cast out Mendonka's demons to win another fight by split decision.
[00:04:01] Speaker B: Praise the Lord.
[00:04:03] Speaker A: Wrapping up the prelims, Rioni Barcelos fought Christian El Nino problema Quinonez. This was a closely contested fight with both having high points throughout the fight. Quinonez faced one El Nino problema when a leg kick got caught in the third, forcing him to the ground. Barcelos quickly cinched up the rear naked choke to steal the judge's spotlight for this one and the victory. And I think that pretty much wraps up our prelims.
[00:04:29] Speaker B: That wraps up the prelims pretty good prelims. Exciting stuff happening. Let's move on to the main card. The main card opener, Manuel Torres. Chris Duncan. This one was a chaotic fight. They started out, both guys swinging, both guys connecting on the.
It was kind of out of control. Both guys were just like.
[00:04:48] Speaker A: It was aggressive.
[00:04:49] Speaker B: They were willing to get hit. They were both hit pretty hard, too. And then Manuel Torres, he got on Chris Duncan's back quickly, kind of got a hold of him, and once he got a hold of him, it took a little while. He got him to the ground. Once he got him to the ground, it was done. He got the first round submission. It was an impressive performance from Torres. Had the crowd with him. He showed the hype is real for him. El Loco, still only 28 years old. I mean, this night went about as good as you could hope for if you're Manuel Torres.
[00:05:20] Speaker A: Yeah, for sure. A quick sub for me.
[00:05:24] Speaker B: That's his third. He's three. And in the UFC. Now, all three first round finishes.
[00:05:29] Speaker A: That's good. I mean, obviously that's good. First round finishes, what you want. If you're going to be a star in the UFC, especially in the smaller divisions, they don't want a whole bunch of.
Didn't they get one of the fights of the nights? Performance bonus of the nights? He called out Patty Pemblit or maybe he didn't call him out. There was one who called him out. I think that would be a good fight. Patty Pimblet.
[00:05:56] Speaker B: Yeah, that'd be a good fight. I think so. Especially if you're a guy trying to get your name out there.
[00:06:00] Speaker A: Maybe Elvis Brenner or Drew Dober, just to kind of mix up a couple other names. Elvis Brenner is also three and o in the UFC. So if you're trying to figure out who's difference of styles, if you're going to give them a different style matchup, we could go either way.
The next one had the largest ods on the entire card.
[00:06:21] Speaker B: Heregi Hughes.
[00:06:22] Speaker A: Yeah. Yasmin Yeregi versus Sam Hughes, the Louisiana native Yuregi. She threw very precise strikes throughout. She had good pressure and she just showed that she's in a different complete game.
[00:06:37] Speaker B: Yeah, this one was a boxing match the whole way through. Stayed on the feet.
I think her game plan was to try to get Haregi to the ground, but she couldn't get him close to her. Haregi was faster than her.
[00:06:48] Speaker A: She controlled the octeon so well.
[00:06:50] Speaker B: She was faster than her. She had better footwork. She was beating Hughes up. It was a very impressive performance heregi, and I think you're right. This just goes to show you there's levels to this. And Haregi was at a different level than Hughes.
[00:07:04] Speaker A: So who do you think Yuregi fights?
I think Molly McCann, new to the division, just got her win in the division.
Maybe JJ Aldrich or Michelle Waterson Gomez.
[00:07:23] Speaker B: I think she probably wants Waterson Gomez the most because that's the biggest name.
[00:07:29] Speaker A: I'm going to keep throwing that out there until I'm right.
[00:07:31] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, it's going to come up eventually. Her reggie, though, this was a nice performance from her coming off of her first career loss. We've said it before. It's always interesting to see how that goes, especially in 20 seconds.
[00:07:43] Speaker A: Yeah. From Denise a. Gomez. That was a brutal knockout.
[00:07:47] Speaker B: So it was a great performance from Hergi. I think she's still only 24 years old, so she has a lot of potential. Any of those names sound good? I would like to see her fight, Molly McCann. But Michelle Waterson Gomez also is a good fight for her, I think.
[00:08:01] Speaker A: Yeah, I agree.
[00:08:02] Speaker B: So the next fight was supposed to be Raul Rosa Jr. Versus Ricky Tercios Tucaos. How do you say his last name?
[00:08:10] Speaker A: I think both of those would get you passed in an airport.
[00:08:13] Speaker B: But literally minutes before the fight, they.
[00:08:16] Speaker A: Were about to do the walkout.
[00:08:18] Speaker B: Rosa became ill. They scrapped the fight. They actually moved it to the. We're going to actually cover it this week because they moved it to this week. So instead the next fight was Francisco Prado. Daniel Zell Huber. And this was probably one of the most exciting fights of the night. On the feet, both guys hitting each other. And it was also one of the most impressive performances. L Huber, he showed he's the real deal. He really did so impressive. He used his reach to an advantage. He ended up winning by decision, I think, 29 28 on every scorecard.
[00:08:48] Speaker A: Yeah, definitely was right on the judges scorecards.
[00:08:51] Speaker B: He pretty much closed both by the end of the fight. Prado's eyes.
[00:08:56] Speaker A: Yeah, pretty much. They have the meme, not meme, but the video circulating. The coach is saying like, you don't need your eyes. Just get in there. Get close and swing.
He knows you need to get in there, get some points or finish.
[00:09:08] Speaker B: Prado showed his toughness.
[00:09:09] Speaker A: He had power.
[00:09:10] Speaker B: Bunch.
[00:09:11] Speaker A: Zellhuber had to survive a lot in the first round. That's what I was about to say.
[00:09:15] Speaker B: I think Prado got the first round, but then Zellhuber, once he established his jab and he hurt that eye, he cut him in the second round, it was done after that. Zellhuber controlled the, as you said earlier about the precision he controlled the octagon used his reach because there was an obvious huge reach advantage in this fight.
[00:09:36] Speaker A: One of the big things with, you know, you go to the corner, you listen to your coach, you make some adjustments and then they work well. I mean, that changed the whole tide of the fight because you go into the second round down, if you're zell Huber in this one, you have great adjustment. Like you said, you figure out the jab. At that point, you're striking with high level precision and you're tearing him apart for the rest of the fight. It was a very good turn of the tides and a very good fight of the night.
[00:10:06] Speaker B: That's three straight wins for the Mexican. Zell Huber, still only 24 years old, 15 and one.
[00:10:11] Speaker A: So this was the call.
[00:10:12] Speaker B: Three and one in the UFC.
[00:10:14] Speaker A: This was the patty pimblet call. Out. Zell Huber is the one who wants Patty Pimblet.
[00:10:18] Speaker B: I think that's a great fight for him.
[00:10:20] Speaker A: It's the right name for know. You got Patty Pimblet, who's been on a tear in the know. He's a fan favorite.
[00:10:28] Speaker B: Say what you want. He's undefeated in the UFC.
[00:10:30] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, coming off of a.
[00:10:32] Speaker B: He beat Tony Ferguson up.
[00:10:34] Speaker A: I think Patty's a good option.
Ludovic Klein, another good option, or maybe even a fellow fighter on this card, Farah Zion. I think Ferrari Zion would be a good fighter. He's showed poise in the UFC as well. They're close to the same level. I think it would be interesting. But his call out, Patty Pimblet, I think, is probably the most likely fight to make next.
[00:10:57] Speaker B: I think so, too. And Zell Huber, he was one of many young mexican fighters that really put on a performance in this card, and it shows you the future is bright for mexican MMA, especially these young guys coming up.
[00:11:09] Speaker A: The crowds with Mexico, like we were saying before when we were previewing, the crowds are crazy.
[00:11:14] Speaker B: They were crazy. They had nice chants going on, singing. It was a couple brawls. So let's move on to the co main event. And this, honestly, was maybe the most surprising result of it. I don't even know why it was that surprising, but it was surprising to me. Yair Rodriguez El pentera loses by, you guessed it, choke to Brian Ortega of T City. T City got him in a triangle.
This was an interesting fight. Brian Ortega, is he back? Maybe the first round, it looked like Ortega was about to get knocked out. I mean, Yair Rodriguez, probably the first two minutes, it was all survival for Brian Ortega. He got dropped, he got kneed in the face. He was up against the fence. He looked like he didn't know where he was. But by the end of the first round, Ortega had Yair on the ground and he had control, but I still think Yair won the first round. Second round, Ortega dominate, maybe not dominated, but he controlled the second round.
[00:12:11] Speaker A: Yeah, he definitely controlled it.
[00:12:12] Speaker B: Got his ground game going, got some ground and pound, and in the third round, Yair was done. I think he was spent. It looked like he kind of blew his load. In the first round, Ortega was still strong, got him to the ground, and it kind of seemed like once Ortega got him to the ground again, Yair, I don't want to say gave up, but his will was killed.
[00:12:33] Speaker A: No, I definitely agree.
I think by the second round, the tide started to turn, and T City did what T City does. He forced Yair to the ground. He didn't get the triangle choke, but he did get the choke to get the sub and to immediately assert himself back in a title contention.
As much as I'm not a fan of him as a fighter, all respect, I don't hate him for that. That's great.
[00:13:04] Speaker B: This fight coming off, he had a little adversity before the fight even started. During the announcing, like, when Bruce Buffer was doing his thing, he twisted his ankle.
[00:13:12] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly.
[00:13:12] Speaker B: It was like, what the fuck?
[00:13:14] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, you never want to see the fight end, like, know, you never want to see a fight end with an injury at all. You want to see it go out like that. And then he almost kind of choked Jayer to death.
[00:13:24] Speaker B: Yeah, it's like he wouldn't.
[00:13:26] Speaker A: He said his ears wouldn't pop from the flight or something like that.
[00:13:30] Speaker B: Yeah, they were trying to pull him off, and he got. He couldn't seconds in there.
[00:13:34] Speaker A: Yeah. Who do you think is he going to fight next? Does he fight Volk off the loss to kind of get the redemption there?
[00:13:40] Speaker B: I don't think he fights Volk. The ods came out today, and he has the best odds to fight Ilia. In Ilia's first title defense, he was like, plus 150, and I think Volk was like, plus 200.
[00:13:52] Speaker A: I think Volk gets the immediate shot, but I do think he deserves a rematch with how he's fought in his entire career.
[00:14:00] Speaker B: I agree, too, but I would like to see. I wouldn't be mad if Ortega got a shot at him.
[00:14:04] Speaker A: No. After this performance, I agree. I think both of us were kind of poised to say that Yair deserves.
[00:14:10] Speaker B: Winner, had a claim at a title shot against a new champion, if not.
[00:14:15] Speaker A: The title shot, I think Ortega could face Volk again. Kind of a changing of tides. If Volk's going to lose again, have Ortega be the guy to at least avenge his own loss. Or Mozvar eveloev.
[00:14:30] Speaker B: Him versus evil would be a good fight.
[00:14:32] Speaker A: I know we've spoken about that a couple of times. He's undefeated as well. He's a monster.
[00:14:36] Speaker B: He's a ground guy. Be two ground guys.
[00:14:38] Speaker A: Give Brian Ortega a chance to avenge his loss to Max Holloway.
[00:14:42] Speaker B: I mean, that would be a good fight, but Max just beat him up, so just.
[00:14:45] Speaker A: I always want to see Max fight. If Max is anywhere near the discussion, I promise you I'm going to bring it.
[00:14:52] Speaker B: I'm always going to tune in for a Max Holloway fight.
[00:14:54] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly. All right, let's move on. Main event I think before we go there, though, I do think Brian Ortega getting a title shot is most realistic, but any of the fights I'd be happy to see as much as I don't want to, necessarily. All right, main event, Roy Val Moreno two, I think setting up more Val Moreno three, my next four years.
[00:15:17] Speaker B: I mean, Brandon Moreno, it seems like every other fight is either a split decision, very close loss, or a draw.
[00:15:22] Speaker A: He is the grudgiest man I've ever. He's like, I will not move on.
[00:15:27] Speaker B: And he's so nice.
[00:15:28] Speaker A: Yeah.
Give you a heart while he's killing you. I guess it was a good fight.
[00:15:34] Speaker B: It was a good fight. Very close fight. I think Moreno won the first two rounds, and then Roy Val kind of.
[00:15:38] Speaker A: Roy Val attempted 556 total strikes.
[00:15:42] Speaker B: It was Roy Val had the volume, Moreno had a little more power, but it just seemed like Roy Val did not slow down at all. If anything, he kind of picked up.
[00:15:53] Speaker A: As the fight went on. Yeah. Moreno, it's crazy. I don't want to say it like this, but it's almost as if he cannot be.
[00:16:01] Speaker B: Not you. You're not going to finish him.
[00:16:03] Speaker A: Yeah, I don't know what you like. It's crazy.
[00:16:06] Speaker B: If Davidson figueredo didn't finish, like, I don't think anybody's going to finish him at this weight class.
[00:16:13] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, the flyweight division is continuing to be.
[00:16:18] Speaker B: I mean, these two guys, the weirdest.
[00:16:21] Speaker A: Most interesting division there is.
[00:16:23] Speaker B: These two guys are right.
[00:16:26] Speaker A: Pantosha has fight. Yeah. Because he was ready for a call.
[00:16:30] Speaker B: He knew he was like, I'm probably going to fight one of these guys again.
[00:16:32] Speaker A: Yeah. So he's watching game live. That's what he's doing. He's getting tape. He knows that no matter what happens, he has to be ready.
[00:16:39] Speaker B: I feel like they put the camera on him and he just held up five and because he's five and against those two guys combined.
[00:16:47] Speaker A: And that's the thing for Pantoja. If you're defending the title, you're going to cement your legacy. You're going to go three and o against one, maybe four and o against one, because those guys are going to keep knocking on the door until they retire.
[00:17:01] Speaker B: Yeah, but saying that, I don't think Roy Val gets a title shot next after this win. I think maybe if he had a crazy finish of Brandon Moreno, he would get it, but I just don't think he did enough in this fight to get a title shot.
[00:17:13] Speaker A: Well, obviously moreno didn't. So I think the next fight, they.
[00:17:16] Speaker B: Do is think they fight the third time.
[00:17:19] Speaker A: Brandon Moreno, Brandon Royvow three, probably in the summer at UFC Noce, maybe in September like it was last year.
[00:17:30] Speaker B: They announced that it's UFC 306.
[00:17:32] Speaker A: They're giving it a full pay per view this year. Nice.
Yeah. So I think that's probably where we're going to have it. We're going to see UFC noce, Brandon Moreno, Brandon Royale three.
Not the main event, but probably a co main. I think it's going to be Alexa Grasso main event, to be honest with.
[00:17:51] Speaker B: And, you know, I wouldn't be surprised about that, honestly, especially with the way Brandon Moreno's. And honestly, we say. We say Brandon Moreno. Rovald did the same thing. Just one less guy. I mean, he's fought Pantoja a couple times.
[00:18:02] Speaker A: Yeah, absolutely. And he's fought Davidson figueredo as well. Yeah. So it's the same division. Very contested as always.
It's frustrating when you see no new.
[00:18:13] Speaker B: Guys just staying at the top.
[00:18:15] Speaker A: Yeah. Which is cool in some ways.
[00:18:22] Speaker B: All right, so with the UFC's return to the apex this weekend, we got to get creative with our top fives. And we went super creative by going top five UFC belt holders. Super creative was being sarcastic, by the way.
[00:18:36] Speaker A: Facetious.
[00:18:36] Speaker B: Facetious.
[00:18:37] Speaker A: That guy looks tall.
[00:18:39] Speaker B: So let's get it started. I think you had the first pick belt holders. So that doesn't necessarily mean champ. That just means you have to be in the UFC. You got to hold a belt technically. I guess anybody can because they go on stage and they wear belts. So take it how you will.
[00:18:53] Speaker A: So I'm going to be honest with you.
I took it as vague as possible because most fighters have, like, a black belt or a blue belt in some way, shape or form that counts. This list could be wild.
[00:19:10] Speaker B: So I think you have the first pick. So let's go ahead and get it started. Your number one top five UFC belt holder. This can be all time as well, too.
[00:19:18] Speaker A: My favorite UFC belt holder or the most iconic goat worthy to me, John Jones.
[00:19:25] Speaker B: I mean, that's not a bad pick.
[00:19:27] Speaker A: He's up there. He's got like 13 title defenses. I looked it up earlier to confirm it.
[00:19:33] Speaker B: How many arrests does he have?
[00:19:35] Speaker A: Probably 13 as well. You're hitting that solid. Taylor Swift's favorite number 13, John Jones. 13 belt defenses. What's better?
[00:19:44] Speaker B: I mean, in terms of inside the octagon, you can't fault the pick at all. He's literally probably the best fighter of all time.
[00:19:51] Speaker A: But as far as, like, good people, he's not a great people.
[00:19:54] Speaker B: Not a great people at all.
Especially if you're a comedian.
[00:19:59] Speaker A: Yeah, he just got, like, hammered and heckled.
[00:20:02] Speaker B: Kind of ruined your show.
[00:20:03] Speaker A: Yeah. Jeez.
[00:20:04] Speaker B: But John Jones, I mean, he's a great fighter. What can you say?
[00:20:06] Speaker A: Yeah, we're not talking about what they do outside of the cage. I'm only worried about inside the cage.
[00:20:11] Speaker B: So your number one pick? The one one is John Jones. My number one pick is actually going to be my guest pick this week.
[00:20:17] Speaker A: Nice. Ooh. Clara. Clara moving up in the ranks.
[00:20:21] Speaker B: Clara moving up in the ranks. She gave me a very good pick, being that she is French. She picked one of the only french speaking champions that we've had.
[00:20:32] Speaker A: I wrote it down already.
[00:20:34] Speaker B: Number one for me is going to be George St. Pierre, GSP, the french Canadian.
We talked about John Jones being a great champ. GSP is a great champ, but he's also something John Jones isn't, which is a great person.
Everybody loves GSP.
One of the most dominant champs of all time.
Iconic UFC champ.
He was, before the age of the UFC, getting super popular like it is now, but still, he was the guy that non MMA fans knew, GSP. So my first pick is going to be George St. Pierre.
[00:21:11] Speaker A: That is a good pick. I can't argue with that at all. Iconic champ really helped spread the word of know, help get it mainstream, help make it what it is today. One of those Chuck Lidell types, and.
[00:21:26] Speaker B: He retired on top, which is something you don't see a lot, which is a good thing, being like, you never saw him deteriorate, right?
[00:21:33] Speaker A: Yeah. And you still see him in great shape.
[00:21:37] Speaker B: There are always rumors. Like, they were saying there was rumors of him coming back for UFC 300.
[00:21:41] Speaker A: Yeah, that's nuts. I hope he doesn't.
[00:21:43] Speaker B: He's not, but I hope he never would.
[00:21:45] Speaker A: Like, he never even consider it. Yeah, but GSP is a great pick.
[00:21:48] Speaker B: My number one pick, courtesy of Clara.
[00:21:51] Speaker A: Thank you. Good job, Clara. Nice pick.
[00:21:53] Speaker B: Nice was a good.
[00:21:54] Speaker A: For sure.
[00:21:54] Speaker B: My second pick is another icon of the same era as GSP. He was probably the most entertaining fighter to watch of all time. And he was also a guy that MMA fans knew and still know. I'm going Anderson the Spider Silva, my number two pick.
I mean, you look at guys like Israel, Adesanya, any striker in the UFC now, they'll say their inspiration, the guy they grew up watching was Anderson Silva.
He had one of the most dominant runs of all time. He was unbeatable at one point.
Likable guy, funny guy, just so fun. To watch Anderson Silva, my second pick.
[00:22:33] Speaker A: That'S another very good pick.
I have nothing really bad to say about it that you said everything good there is to say.
Damn. Anderson Silva is a great to. I was hoping you didn't do that because I was going to use him as my number two as well.
[00:22:50] Speaker B: So speaking of your number two, what is it?
[00:22:53] Speaker A: My number two is Conor McGregor. Oh, that's a good know, iconic fighter, if we're talking about popularized the sport of UFC.
He put it on the map.
[00:23:06] Speaker B: Put it on the map. But he wasn't the best fighter.
[00:23:08] Speaker A: Made his biggest name from beating Aldo.
Jose Aldo. Jose Aldo. However you want to say it.
I mean, not the best fighter, but the biggest name, the biggest showcase.
[00:23:23] Speaker B: You know what's interesting thing about him?
[00:23:25] Speaker A: What?
[00:23:25] Speaker B: Zero title defenses.
[00:23:27] Speaker A: I know every time he's held the belt, he's lost it or had to vacate it because he was inactive for too long. Yeah, I know that's the one kind of blip on his career, but it's okay. Conor McGregor, I mean, he's a good pick. Notorious is the perfect nickname for that man.
[00:23:46] Speaker B: He's by far the most popular fighter, so not a bad pick. Conor McGregor, what you got for number three?
[00:23:53] Speaker A: Number three, I got to go with Khabib. Khabib Narmagomedov.
[00:23:57] Speaker B: How do you put Connor ahead of Khabib? Habib.
[00:24:01] Speaker A: Notoriousness. Iconicness.
[00:24:03] Speaker B: Habib beat him in the submission.
[00:24:05] Speaker A: Yeah. Like he did everybody else. But you know what else Khabib did? Retired on top 29 and undefeated. Undefeated. After his dad died, he swore he'd never fight again, and he's holding himself to that.
[00:24:17] Speaker B: That's actually the most badass thing he can do.
[00:24:20] Speaker A: Number three for me is going to be Khabib. Never lost a fight, so he's up there.
[00:24:26] Speaker B: Hardly ever lost a round.
[00:24:27] Speaker A: Yeah, really? Like, lost two or three rounds ever in the UFC. One of those two. Our boy Dustin Poirier shout out, Khabib. Number three.
[00:24:37] Speaker B: I mean, that's not a bad pick. I can't even argue with it.
Khabib's the man.
So my number three, this is where I could go a lot of different ways.
I'm not sure where I'm going to go. I'm still trying to decide.
[00:24:53] Speaker A: I mean, you could go somewhere like Arnold Allen, who's never had a UFC belt, but he has like, a black belt. I could.
[00:25:05] Speaker B: I could.
[00:25:06] Speaker A: You could go with Bruce Buffer, who.
[00:25:08] Speaker B: Always wears, like, a very nice belt.
[00:25:10] Speaker A: A very nice belt. At least like a louie or something.
[00:25:13] Speaker B: So my number three pick is going to be the most dominant woman's fighter of all time. Not the most popular, but the most dominant. My number three is going to be Amanda Nunez.
[00:25:27] Speaker A: I love that pick.
[00:25:29] Speaker B: She had two weight classes of belts, which is 135, 145.
[00:25:35] Speaker A: It's rare in men's. There's pretty much, I think, two of the three people on both of our lists, or each of our lists have had multiple bells. McGregor, GSP, and Silva. Right. And now Nunez, I mean, that's rare. But for a female to have that is even rarer. They made a whole different weight class for them.
[00:25:59] Speaker B: And then as soon as it looked like she was on the decline and she lost, she came back and beat the shit out of Juliana.
[00:26:04] Speaker A: She did.
[00:26:05] Speaker B: And then silenced her. Yeah, well, not. She didn't silence her because Pena's still talking for some reason.
[00:26:10] Speaker A: Silenced her.
The weight of her words, I should say.
[00:26:14] Speaker B: Yes, exactly. So Manda Nunez, a great champ, the best woman fighter of all time. Most dominant one of all time. So that's my number three. And now I got to think about a number four.
[00:26:25] Speaker A: Yeah, you do got to think about a number four, but there's a lot of people left on the list.
[00:26:29] Speaker B: My number four is going to be another double champ.
This guy had a light heavyweight and a heavyweight belt.
He's from our hometown.
I'm going Daniel DC Cormier as my number four pick.
[00:26:44] Speaker A: It's a good pick. He's a great guy.
[00:26:46] Speaker B: Great guy.
[00:26:46] Speaker A: Almost illiterate.
[00:26:48] Speaker B: Great commentator. I wouldn't say that. Great commentator from Louisiana. As we said, two belts, which is something that's very rare to mean. How can you not like DC?
[00:26:59] Speaker A: No, I love DC. He's great.
[00:27:03] Speaker B: I think Joe Rogan are the best. People hate on him as a commentator duo, but I think they're the best. But DC, my number four pick.
[00:27:11] Speaker A: Yeah, that's nice.
[00:27:14] Speaker B: Who you got? Number four.
[00:27:15] Speaker A: Kamara Usman.
[00:27:16] Speaker B: It's a good one.
[00:27:18] Speaker A: He was iconic in the new age of the UFC, which most of my people have been but iconic for title defenses.
[00:27:27] Speaker B: Had one of the most dominant runs.
[00:27:29] Speaker A: I was going to say, like 19.
[00:27:30] Speaker B: Or 20 win win streak, 170.
[00:27:32] Speaker A: It just crazy. The one thing I hate is as soon as he lost the belt, they just completely turned on him.
And now he's back looking great, even though he lost his last fight out. Looks great, but they completely turned on how MMA is. Yeah, it's wild.
[00:27:53] Speaker B: Like, you lose one. Like, look at bulk now.
[00:27:55] Speaker A: Yeah, you really lost that fight. But Usman, great shooter. I should say great fighter.
He did the job where he needed to do it, and that one head kick just flipped everything for him.
[00:28:13] Speaker B: And he was dominating. Just think he might.
[00:28:15] Speaker A: He was dominating all five rounds of that fight. He was about to just walk into his 20th straight win, his 6th title defense.
It was crazy. And it ended because know clipped him, and that's what fight. That's why we love the fights.
[00:28:33] Speaker B: But Usman, that's a great pick. I love Kamaru Usman. So who's your number five pick?
[00:28:37] Speaker A: Your last pick, man.
This is another one. That's tough.
There's so many people on the list that are deserving of a spot.
I got to go with Alexander Volkanovsky.
[00:28:55] Speaker B: It's a good pick. I was thinking him.
[00:28:57] Speaker A: You mentioned him.
[00:28:58] Speaker B: I think he's the best 145 of all time.
[00:29:00] Speaker A: He's definitely in the mix. He's pound for pound, he's up there. He's not scared. He moved up to lightweight, and honestly, I think if he would have fought not anybody, but almost anybody other than Makachev at lightweight, he could have won the first fight, especially with a full. The first fight, you're pretty much there.
[00:29:26] Speaker B: Yeah, I agree.
[00:29:28] Speaker A: Only losing four fights since 2013, including the two fights at lightweight, he gave.
[00:29:34] Speaker B: Islam a tougher time than any of the lightweights have.
[00:29:37] Speaker A: Right. Than anybody. So I think Volk, even though it's the fifth pick, that's a good pick. It's a fantastic featherweight, like you said, greatest featherweight of all time. I think I would say that Alexander Volkanovsky, even though he just lost the belt, he held it for a while. He defended it, and since he had that haircut, since he went bald, he just went on a tear.
[00:30:01] Speaker B: Yeah, that's a great pick. I love Volk. I can't hate on that pick at all.
Now we're going to go to my fifth pick. My fifth pick is also another double champ, one of the more recent double champs, one of my favorite guys to watch fight, and he speaks zero English.
I'm going with Alexander or not Alexander. Alex Pereira Potan. He's fighting at UFC 300, main event to defend his 205 belt. One of the most exciting guys. Him and Izzy's rivalry is one of the most exciting things, not only in MMA, but they carried that over from kickboxing. He's exciting. He cracks people. He hits harder than almost anybody we've ever seen.
[00:30:42] Speaker A: And it seems like it's still kind of going on with Izzy on Theo.
[00:30:46] Speaker B: This past week, talking like it could be going on. He has one of the punchers in MMA where it's lights out if he hits you.
[00:30:55] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. It's one of those you don't want.
[00:30:56] Speaker B: To get touched by, like, even like a samurai. Like Yuri Prohatsk.
He got knocked out.
[00:31:03] Speaker A: Yeah, absolutely.
[00:31:04] Speaker B: Pereira, crazy power double champ. This was more of a personal pick just because he's one of my favorite guys to watch fight and I love him.
[00:31:13] Speaker A: He's a very entertaining fighter. I like that pick as well.
[00:31:15] Speaker B: So, Alex Pereira, my fifth.
[00:31:17] Speaker A: So I was about to say let's run it back and just list them all.
[00:31:20] Speaker B: Yeah, let's run it back. My number one was GSP two, Anderson Silva three. Amanda Nunez four, Daniel Cormier five, Alex.
[00:31:28] Speaker A: Potom Pereira, I got John Jones, Conor McGregor, Habib Nurmagomedov, Kamaru Usman and Alexander Volkanovsky.
[00:31:45] Speaker B: UFC Vegas 87 in the apex this weekend, we're going to cover the six fight main card, and the first fight of the night is the opener, obviously.
[00:31:59] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:32:00] Speaker B: Of the main card is a fight that we talked about earlier that should have taken place last week. It is Raul Rosa Jr. Ricky Turkeyos scrapped last minute last week. They moved it just a week later. So obviously, Rosa Jr. Nothing too serious. Maybe he drank some of the water in Mexico or something. That's the only thing I can think of.
But, yeah, I mean, we kind of talked about this fight last week. I think we both picked Rosa Jr. In the fight we had. He's two and one in the UFC. Two finishes coming off of a win, taking on Turkeyos, who's also two and one in the UFC, also coming off of a win. But all his fights have been the decision.
My mind has not been changed at all in the week of this fight. Not happening.
[00:32:45] Speaker A: I actually kind of like Ricky less now because he was saying, like, rosad dishonored the Bushido code. It's like, bro, you're from America. Chill.
You haven't fought in like a year.
[00:33:02] Speaker B: At least since November of 22, right? I can see why you're frustrated if you finally got a fight for like a year and a half and then the dude right when you're about to walk out. Yeah, but at least you're fighting the next week.
[00:33:15] Speaker A: They are doing it at catch weight so they don't have to fully again, I guess like a partial, just don't pick out, maybe don't gain a bunch of weight and you're fine.
Like you, I haven't really changed my mind. At 19 years old, Raul Rosa Jr. Is two and one in the UFC. Like we said before, he's lost by decision to Christian Rodriguez. But what he did show in his brief time so far in the UFC was his ability to make adjustments if he's not finishing his opponent.
[00:33:45] Speaker B: He responded very well after his first loss.
[00:33:47] Speaker A: Responded very well after his first loss. So I'm going to keep riding that lightning, I'm assuming. I assume you said the ods were probably going to be about the same. I think they're going to be a little bit more in favor of Ricky. Yeah, when they come out, probably. I think it was like a -220 or something beforehand. I think it's probably going to be like a -170 favorite for Raul Rosa when they post the lines, but I still think Raul Rosa is going to win and I think he's going to show Ricky why he probably needs to stop or maybe start fighting a little bit more actively.
[00:34:17] Speaker B: Yeah. So we're both still rolling with Rosa. Let's move on. Next fight. Matt Schnell. Matt danger Schnell. The 34 year old American taking on Steve Danger. Steve Urkeg. Is that how you say his name?
[00:34:29] Speaker A: I think it's Ursag. Ursag.
[00:34:30] Speaker B: Astro boy. The Aussie schnell. 16 wins, seven losses, one no contest, six wins, five losses, one no contest in the UFC. So he's batting about 500. He's taken on Ursag, who's two. And on the UFC, both of his wins are unanimous decisions.
[00:34:47] Speaker A: Yeah. Schnell lately been on a bit of a skid.
[00:34:50] Speaker B: He lost two out of three.
[00:34:52] Speaker A: Yeah, he won one in his last.
[00:34:53] Speaker B: Four and his last fight was a knockout that he got knocked out and that was all the way December of 22.
[00:35:00] Speaker A: Yeah, not great, but he is a well rounded fighter with dangerous ground game.
Urseg, though, he hasn't lost a fight since 2017 and that was in his regional circuit, meaning he's undefeated in the UFC, but he's also comfortable on the ground.
[00:35:16] Speaker B: Yeah, he has a lot of submission wins.
[00:35:19] Speaker A: So this is one of those where both fighters are in the top 15.
[00:35:23] Speaker B: One interesting thing I saw, all Chanel's UFC losses have been by finish, most of them tkos. Urseg does not have a UFC finish yet and only has one ko in his career, so it's kind of interesting to see how this fight's going to go.
[00:35:37] Speaker A: Yeah, it's like a similar style fight, but somehow still a clash of styles at the same time. I think Ursa is going to win. I think they're going to swap rankings.
But I am kind of like you. I'm interested to see how this fight is going to play out like exactly what's going to happen?
[00:35:55] Speaker B: Yeah, I think I'm rolling with Ursig, too. Not sure if he gets the finish, but I'm going to roll with Urseg to stay undefeated in the UFC.
[00:36:04] Speaker A: All right, next bantamweight division. That's 135 pounds, in case my sister is listening.
Umar Namagamedov versus Beczat Almakan.
[00:36:20] Speaker B: Almacon making his UFC debut. And he's facing a killer 16.
[00:36:24] Speaker A: And Namaga Medov has two ko victories, seven subs, seven decisions. He's a minus 1200 favorite for the money line.
[00:36:32] Speaker B: By far the biggest favorite on the card.
[00:36:35] Speaker A: Alma Khan is 14 and one in his career. He has twelve kos, one sub, one decision, one sub loss, all on his regional circuits.
[00:36:44] Speaker B: Nirmaga Madoff. Four no in the UFC. Three of those wins by finish with two subs, one tko. So he's taking on a guy who's only losses by sub. So I think that's obviously going to be Namaga Madoff's game plan is to go ground heavy in this fight because, how do you say the guy from Kazakhstan?
[00:37:03] Speaker A: Almacon.
[00:37:04] Speaker B: Almacon. Thank you. He, out of his 14 wins, twelve of them are by knockout. So he's a guy that likes to stand and bang.
[00:37:13] Speaker A: Yeah, this is that traditional clash of styles.
[00:37:16] Speaker B: It's a rough way to get introduced to the UFC as a fighter. Namaga Madov.
[00:37:20] Speaker A: Dude, I like the Superman versus Lex Luthor kind of thing here. It's just so wildly different here that I think Namaga Medov is going to get the quick finish, but I think he might just get the ko. I think he's going to come out and just kind of do something crazy, unexpected.
[00:37:40] Speaker B: I agree to you. I have Umar winning both guys from around similar parts of the world and.
[00:37:46] Speaker A: Also a big step up in competition. A UFC debut from a regional circuit is a big deal.
[00:37:50] Speaker B: Well, not only a UFC debut, though, you're facing a killer. You're not facing just like a normal non ranked guy in the UF. This dude's a future title contender in Umar. So I'm going with Umar, too. So I think we agree with that.
[00:38:02] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:38:03] Speaker B: So let's move on. Co main event, Alex Perez. I'm sorry, not co main event. The fight.
[00:38:10] Speaker A: Coco the Coco main event, Alex Perez.
[00:38:13] Speaker B: The American, taking on Mohammed Makayev, the Englishman. Makayev. Eleven and o with one no contest. He's five and O in the UFC with four sub wins. And he's taken on Perez, who has a lot more experience. 24 wins, seven losses, six and three in the UFC and some of that.
[00:38:30] Speaker A: Experience is UFC back to back losses to champs or former champs. Figueredo.
[00:38:36] Speaker B: Exactly. So, I mean, two losses in a row, but those are the two killers, right?
[00:38:40] Speaker A: Not really to take away from them, but you kind of have to point it out.
[00:38:43] Speaker B: You kind of have to point it out. It's not just losing the bums out here. So I think it's a big step up in cop competition for Makayev. Maybe not necessarily in terms of a huge step up, but he's facing a guy that's faced the best.
[00:38:54] Speaker A: Yeah, you're absolutely right. Mokayev is four and O in the UFC, or five and O in the UFC, four of which were submission victories.
[00:39:01] Speaker B: Including his last one, which was in October against Tim Elliott.
[00:39:04] Speaker A: Yeah, he's got crazy range, great ground game. And honestly, if know doesn't wake up, Makayev is just going to walk straight through him. I honestly think. I know Pantoja losses to Pantoja and Figueredo are still commendable losses, but Mokayev is out here and he's looking to run through somebody.
He's coming out here hot. Five and O in the UFC, still.
[00:39:36] Speaker B: Only 23 years old, too.
[00:39:38] Speaker A: What is that? Young, dumb and full of come. He's just ready to go. I think Mokai is going to get out here, get some work done and beat Alex Perez.
[00:39:47] Speaker B: I think it's going to be a tough fight, but I agree with you. I think Makaev gets the win. I wouldn't be surprised if this thing goes to decision. Makayev has to kind of eke this one out. But I agree with you. Makayev winning the fight.
Now let's go to the co main event.
[00:40:03] Speaker A: Now the real co main, Vitor Petrino Merciless versus Tyson Pedro. This is a light heavyweight fight. This one's. When you look at these two guys, neither one of them looks as big as they are.
Tyson, Pedro, Vitor Petrino, they don't look like huge guys, but then you see their weight. 205.
[00:40:24] Speaker B: Six three, though.
[00:40:25] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly. It spreads out well.
Petrino, he's undefeated three and O in the UFC. He has one ko, one sub, one decision.
[00:40:34] Speaker B: So he does it every way he can get it done it every way.
[00:40:37] Speaker A: He's got a little bit less activity on the ground overall.
[00:40:41] Speaker B: He fought in November, though, and got the ko victory. So that was his last fight.
[00:40:45] Speaker A: Tyson Pedro has never won a fight by decision, which is a crazy state.
[00:40:51] Speaker B: Five kos, five subs.
[00:40:52] Speaker A: Yeah, he only wins if you're. And he's lost twice by decision. So when it goes to decision, he's lost, losing 100% of the time so far.
[00:41:00] Speaker B: But he's six and four in the UFC, so he has a lot more UFC experience.
But he hasn't been a little over 500. So he hasn't been the most successful thing. But he did win his last fight, which was a round one ko victory in September. So both the guys coming in with a little momentum in this fight.
[00:41:18] Speaker A: I think Petrino has more active hands, even though his ground game is a little bit not worse, it's just not quite as clean.
I think he's going to come out and get the victory. Vitor Petrino here.
[00:41:31] Speaker B: Yeah, I think merciless stays undefeated. The Brazilian again, another young guy, only 26 years old. Pedro does have the age on him, 32 years old, but I think the young prospect rises to the occasion, gets it done. I'm going Victor Petrino as well. Sweet. So main event now, main event.
[00:41:51] Speaker A: Jaron Zeno, biggie boy Rosenstruck versus shamil Gaziev.
[00:41:59] Speaker B: Heavyweight main event. So, you know, these guys are going to be banging, banging.
[00:42:03] Speaker A: And it's probably going to be like a 48 2nd fight.
[00:42:06] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:42:06] Speaker A: Which we can hope for that. It's less exciting when you get the 48 2nd fight because it's over as quick as it started.
[00:42:14] Speaker B: Rosenstruck is seven and five in the UFC. All five of his losses have been by KO, which I saw was kind of crazy. And he has lost three out of four, including his last two. And he's taken on undefeated Gazev the Bahrainian. But he's only one and only in the UFC. So this is a. Again, it's a guy, he's not age wise. He's not that much younger than Rosenstreich, but experience wise, one fight in the UFC compared to twelve.
How does this one go? Does the experience going to play a factor in this? Is there a guy ascending and a guy descending? How do you see this fight going?
[00:42:50] Speaker A: This one?
Rosenstreck lost, like you said. He lost three out of his last five. He lost to Almeida, Volkov and Blades.
Nothing to shake your head out. Know those, know big power guys go, know crazy in their craft.
I think in order for Ghazia to win, he's going to need to put Rosenstruck on the ground. I think he's going to need to get the wrestling involved because that's where Rosenstruck is at his weakest.
But there's a combined 20 kos between the two here. It's going to be a powerhouse matchup.
[00:43:24] Speaker B: Powerhouse.
[00:43:25] Speaker A: I really think it's going to be a quick, less than five minute fight.
[00:43:28] Speaker B: I agree. I think either way, this is a first round finish.
[00:43:31] Speaker A: My favorite part here is that Rosenstruck has been in the UFC for a while and Ghaziev is facing that big step up in competition. That's why I want to lean with Rosenstruck. I think he's going to see his quick opening and clip him.
[00:43:48] Speaker B: So we're actually disagreeing on this one. Finally, I got Gazev. I think Rosenstreke, he's on the decline. He keeps getting finished. I think it continues. I think Gazev gets the first round finish, probably be a knockout over Rosenstreke.
[00:44:06] Speaker A: All right, so now it is time to recap last week's for stakes and takes some good news and some bad news here.
I did pretty good in everything and Christian didn't. That would be the good news and the bad news.
[00:44:23] Speaker B: Yeah, I think I dropped the first of bets we've ever had.
[00:44:28] Speaker A: Yeah, that was a goose. I've never. An over five big goose egg.
[00:44:33] Speaker B: My soccer bets fucked me. I forgot about draws.
[00:44:36] Speaker A: Draws happen. Draws happen.
[00:44:40] Speaker B: And then the two.
Yair Rodriguez, Moreno and Yair.
[00:44:44] Speaker A: Yeah, it was not Mexico's night at UFC. Mexico for us.
I went three, one and one. Rosa got canceled, moved to this week. So I get to live to fight another day on that one.
[00:44:59] Speaker B: Three, one and one.
[00:45:00] Speaker A: Three, one and one.
[00:45:01] Speaker B: I went, Owen, five. As I said, the goose egg hoof.
[00:45:04] Speaker A: Easy to calculate your units. You put two on all, put ten.
[00:45:07] Speaker B: Units in, got zero out.
[00:45:09] Speaker A: So that was a minus ten. That moves you to a minus 7.94 overall. So we'll keep track of that.
[00:45:16] Speaker B: Got to work our way back. Got to work our way back.
[00:45:18] Speaker A: It's a true underdog story now. It is. You won last season or no. We tied last season, so it was a push.
And then if we'd have just extended one more week, you'd have won two more weeks, I'd have won. So there we go.
Yeah. Three, one and one. Rosa canceled for me, Rodriguez lost for me. That was my biggest bet. I put three units on that one. It was unfortunate, but I got Braves beating the Rays in spring training, the heat beating the Pelicans because I don't like Zion and Kentucky beating Alabama. It's fun times for me. Yeah.
[00:45:54] Speaker B: I thought Alabama was going to win that game. I was surprised and disappointed.
[00:45:58] Speaker A: I did put ten units in. I walked away with eleven point 94 units.
[00:46:03] Speaker B: It's not bad.
[00:46:04] Speaker A: So went up 1.94 units two weeks in a row. So I'm up 3.88 total standings for the weeks for picks. I went six, three and one. I think you went four or five and one.
[00:46:17] Speaker B: Yeah, four or five and one.
[00:46:19] Speaker A: Some more bad news there. Well, let's just skim past. Still pretty good on the standings, though. 13, six and one for me. Six, three and one in bets. And you got twelve, seven and one and four and six in bets.
[00:46:33] Speaker B: Oof.
[00:46:34] Speaker A: But enough about us. Let's move on to this week. All right, let's go with the picks. All four picks. Since we got six fights, we'll pick our own picks.
[00:46:44] Speaker B: Pick our own picks.
[00:46:45] Speaker A: I'm going to go with what I've been paying attention to most frequently and been best at. I got four NCAA basketball, four college basketball picks for this week. What you got?
[00:47:00] Speaker B: I got four. Soccer again.
Now they jumping back on the horse.
[00:47:05] Speaker A: They draw. Remember that.
[00:47:06] Speaker B: They draw. I know, but it's so hard to predict a draw.
[00:47:09] Speaker A: You're telling me. All right, you go first.
[00:47:14] Speaker B: So you want me to go all four picks?
[00:47:16] Speaker A: Yeah. Since they're all soccer and all basketball, I guess we'll go across the pond.
[00:47:22] Speaker B: Across the pond. I got two in the English Premier League. First one, Nottingham Forest. Taking on Liverpool.
Nottingham coming in, trying to fight relegation. 17th place right now. Liverpool fighting for the title. First place currently.
[00:47:37] Speaker A: That sounds like a domination.
[00:47:39] Speaker B: They played earlier in the season. Liverpool won three nil. It was at Liverpool, though. This one's in Nottingham, but I'm still going Liverpool. So Liverpool is my pick in that one. My other English Premier League game. Pick it every week. Arsenal going to Sheffield United. Another domination. Sheffield is coming in 20th, which is last place in the Premier League. Arsenal third, fighting for the title.
[00:48:01] Speaker A: So if you get relegated out of the Premier League, where do you go?
[00:48:04] Speaker B: Home.
[00:48:05] Speaker A: You just can't play soccer anymore.
[00:48:06] Speaker B: No, there's a lower league. The championship. They went over this in Ted Lasso.
[00:48:11] Speaker A: I need to rewatch it, I guess.
[00:48:12] Speaker B: Yes. Well, Sheffield is pretty much guaranteed to get relegated at this point. 20th, Arsenal third. As I said, they played in October. Arsenal won five nil. I think it's more of the same, man.
[00:48:23] Speaker A: Arsenal has been on a scoring tear.
[00:48:25] Speaker B: They've been on a scoring tear. I think they continue it. I think they get the win. Then I'm going to go to the Netherlands. PSV Einhoven. First place, 21 wins, two draws, no losses all season in the ere. Devijay, as they call it.
[00:48:40] Speaker A: That's their league name.
[00:48:41] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:48:41] Speaker A: Man, that's sick.
[00:48:43] Speaker B: And they're taking on fire. Nord Rotterdam. Fire Nord is second place.
[00:48:46] Speaker A: Don't call me that.
[00:48:47] Speaker B: They've actually played three times this season already in different various competitions. Fire Nord's won one. PSV has won two of them. I think PSV continues. PSV at home getting the win and then the last.
Soccer. I can call it a soccer game at this point because we're going back across the pond to America, close to.
[00:49:09] Speaker A: Where you're going to hand it off to me. Nice.
[00:49:10] Speaker B: We're going to Miami. In fact, we're going to visit Lionel Messi as Inter Miami plays rival Orlando City. Inter Miami. They've started the season with a win in a draw. Orlando has just the draw. Messi's already continued his form. He has a goal and an assist already.
Messi has his old Barcelona teammates now on the team with Luis Suarez.
[00:49:34] Speaker A: Isn't that crazy?
[00:49:35] Speaker B: They're all just coming to play with him. Jordy Alba. I think they continue. I got Miami winning. And then if you really want a little extra bet, put a little money on Messi scoring a goal.
[00:49:44] Speaker A: Yeah, I think that's probably fair, but.
[00:49:46] Speaker B: I got to enter Miami getting the win.
[00:49:48] Speaker A: All right, so I'll see your Miami. Just change the sport. Or maybe not Miami. I'll see your Florida and change the sport. We got the Florida Gators taking on the South Carolina Gamecocks at South Carolina. I think the Gators ranked 24 overall, or I guess out of 25 because they only do 25 rankings.
[00:50:09] Speaker B: Correct.
[00:50:10] Speaker A: Taking on the Gamecocks, they're 18th. Florida's top ten in points per games, rebound and blocks. I think Florida is going to walk in and take care of South Carolina at home.
[00:50:21] Speaker B: First up at South Carolina or at Florida?
[00:50:23] Speaker A: At South Carolina.
[00:50:24] Speaker B: It's a tough one, but LSU. Did you see how LSU beat South Carolina this week? Crazy. Buzer.
[00:50:29] Speaker A: What do they do?
[00:50:29] Speaker B: LSU sucks. And they beat South Carolina by a buzer beater at South Carolina.
[00:50:34] Speaker A: That gives me even more confidence. I didn't know that happened. And then right by South Carolina, we're going to go on the bus with Tennessee to Alabama. The four taking on Tennessee. Four taking on the 14.
[00:50:48] Speaker B: Alabama rivals Tennessee and Alabama.
[00:50:51] Speaker A: I think the volunteers here are going to do work against Alabama. I think Kentucky was able to expose the weaknesses of Alabama and give really good tape for an even better school like Tennessee to.
[00:51:05] Speaker B: You don't think Alabama just had a bad night and they come out and play their ass off and beat their rival Tennessee at home?
[00:51:11] Speaker A: No, not this time.
[00:51:13] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:51:14] Speaker A: I think this isn't the year for Alabama sports. Nick, Saban just retired. I think Alabama is going to be at an all time low for all sports. Next. I got the number seven, Kansas at Baylor, 15. So McCullough is still going to be week to week. He's probably not going to play.
I still think Kansas is going to shoots, you know, good shots deep.
I don't have any issue with Kansas not having McCullough in there.
[00:51:45] Speaker B: And we're saying this as Kansas is struggling to beat a BYU team at home as we're recording this.
[00:51:50] Speaker A: Yeah, whatever.
[00:51:52] Speaker B: Okay. I mean, it's always hard to bet.
[00:51:54] Speaker A: Against Kansas and I'm tilting my head so I can't see the game as well.
[00:51:59] Speaker B: It's tie game.
[00:52:00] Speaker A: That's not good. That's not good. Anyway, last one for me, Gonzaga at St. Mary. Gonzaga is 23rd ranked. St. Mary's is 17th.
[00:52:11] Speaker B: Gonzaga rivals. These are two best teams in their. You don't know this because you haven't been watching college of basketball much.
[00:52:16] Speaker A: Yeah, you're right.
[00:52:17] Speaker B: Past like 20 years, these are the only two good teams in their conference.
[00:52:20] Speaker A: Nice.
[00:52:20] Speaker B: And usually every year it's Gonzaga beating St. Mary twice. And then finally, this is the first year. St. Not the first year, but one of the only years where St. Mary's looks like the better team.
[00:52:30] Speaker A: St. Mary beat them February 3. That's Gonzaga's last loss.
[00:52:34] Speaker B: Gonzaga has been on a tear after a slow start.
[00:52:36] Speaker A: Gonzaga has to go to St. Mary and I think Gonzaga, the gales is going to beat the gales at home.
[00:52:44] Speaker B: Oh, so you got Gonzaga.
[00:52:45] Speaker A: I think Gonzaga has been the better team overall since the loss to St. Mary's. And I don't want to say that has anything to do with each other. I'm just saying since February 3, Gonzaga has been playing like they want to avenge that loss later on in the month. And I think, well, not later on in the month. By the time they play, it'll be like one month later.
But by the time they get to play, I think they're going to be ready to avenge it. I think Gonzaga is going to beat St. Mary's. It's going to be one in one for the season.
[00:53:14] Speaker B: It's a bold pick, but I like it. I like it.
[00:53:16] Speaker A: That puts me all four of my picks are the road team winning.
[00:53:22] Speaker B: Oh, that's not a good sign, especially in college basketball.
[00:53:27] Speaker A: That's what I made this week. Guys, all away.
[00:53:30] Speaker B: We'll see how that goes.
So those are our picks. Our picker on picks. What do you got for bets?
[00:53:36] Speaker A: So I got three UFC and two college basketball.
[00:53:41] Speaker B: I got three, UFC, two, soccer.
[00:53:44] Speaker A: All right, let's get the basketball out of the way. I got the Gators money line. I'm going to do two units on that. And then I got three units on Gonzaga.
[00:53:55] Speaker B: Oh, that's bold.
[00:53:56] Speaker A: That's very bold. They don't have lines out yet, so I can't really give you a plus or minus, but yes, I think that's going to happen.
[00:54:06] Speaker B: You gave me your basketball, give you my soccer.
I'm going heavy. Liverpool, four units. Liverpool -185 and I'm going two units PSV Einhoven at plus 105. And then I have three MMA bets after that.
[00:54:21] Speaker A: All right, so I'm going to repeat my Raul Rosa bet from last week. I'm going two units on him to beat Ricky Turquiosios.
[00:54:31] Speaker B: I didn't bet on him last week, but I'm betting on him this week. I'm putting one unit on Rosa Jr. -280 nice.
[00:54:36] Speaker A: I got Mohammed Mokayev -292 units on him as well.
[00:54:42] Speaker B: I also have Makayev two units -290 nice.
[00:54:48] Speaker A: Then I took the main event on this one. I got Rosenstruck plus 125.
I put one unit on that.
I think the ods are perfect how they are. It's a toss up matchup.
Somebody's going to get clipped. I believe him. Or Ghaziev. I think he's going to inch out to win.
[00:55:09] Speaker B: I also took the main event, but I took Ghaziav, obviously, since I picked him. Yeah, I only put one unit on him -150 but I got him beaten. Rosen strike as my last bet. So I think that kind of wraps up our picks, kind of wraps up our bets and kind of wraps up our episode. Check us out next week with episode 35. We are going to recap UFC Vegas 87. We're going to preview one of the best cards of the year. It looks like UFC 299.
[00:55:33] Speaker A: Got that good DP on there.
[00:55:35] Speaker B: Got DP on there. We're going to see how we did on all these picks and best we just went over. And we're going to give you a special, somehow Florida related top five. So check us out.
[00:55:47] Speaker A: That'll be saucy.
Goodbye.
